PRAYERFULLY YOURS ~ Prayer Cloth

One morning about 2:00am I was asking God for help and direction. I heard plainly, "what do you love to do?" well, I love to pray for people, everywhere and that was the answer this answer came to my mind "do what do you love to do?" and in my head I heard "then do that, pray" so me being the person that I am, I asked God to make it plain to me so that I understood completely what it was I was hearing  was from Him! God showed me through the gift that He had given to me "praying for people" was how I was to touch lives everywhere. There are books on top of books on prayer, How to pray, where to pray and the rest. There are Television Evangelist sending out Prayer Cloths for a donation to their Ministry, but God said for me to be specific in what it was that He was sending me to do. God gave me the prayers that are on the the Prayer Cloth ; God given prayers that He is answering!" God gave me the design  for the cloth; One side was to have frayed ends- representative of our lives, undone, inperfect without God, the Red Thread represents Jesus and the Red Ribbon is representative of the Blood of Jesus that covers us. I have been very busy these past 2 months just keeping up with the demand!

Youth Choir

You can sing too

We are happy to offer to our members a Youth Choir for those young children and young adults that still have a desire to bepart of a Choir. Our Youth Choir sing every 4th Sunday as well as taking advantage of invitations to sing away from the church for other churches and special programs.                          

If you or your child have an interest in finding out more information about First Baptist Church Youth Choir you can visit them during their practice on Thursday nights at 6:00 pm here at First Baptist Church.

 

Youth Ushers

Learn To be an Usher

Have you every thought about letting your child become an Usher?  The training will give each child Self Esteem and pride in doing a job well, also, it is a way for them to give back to someone, assistance in the house of God. Each Usher is trained how to greet the public at the door and assist the congregation during the service so that their time during service would be an enjoyable one.

Introducing Our Youth Minister Rev. Richard Jones and his wife Patricia. Rev and sister Jones, have worked with our Youth Deptatment for several years. He works also with our Youth Choir and Ushers. He and his wife have a love for children and it shows. Rev. Jones and his wife Patricia are the parents of 2 grown children.
Franceis Blackmon is the Youth Director  for our Youth Department and works specifically with the Youth Angels Choir. Mrs. Blackmon has worked with our youth angels for more than 9 yrs. She is the Mother of 3 grown young men who has done a wonderful job of stepping into the big shoes left by her late husband, Rev. GB Blackmon, who was the former Youth Minister.

Rev Bruce Gillard and his wife Juanita, who has been our Usher Department President for the past 2 years; Both also work together with our youth giving them direction for "Servanthood" from a "Servants Propective.' As Deacon and Deaconess each teach our youth what it means to be a Servant for the Kingdom of God. They are the proud parents of 4.

Sis Beverly Bass is our Assistant Usher President, she  works directly with our Youth Ushers. Sis Bass has worked tirelessly for over 9 yrs in many areas within the church. Sis. Beverley is talented in other areas as well, she has directed and produced many Christian Plays over the years, working with the adults as well as the youth. She also directs"SWAT" our Signing Praise Team; she is available for many other events at the church when asked.

Many of our youth work to make this ministry a success. Our Youth Department is a success because of them.
